Argentine-born Juan María Solare is a pianist & composer based in Germany. His music traces a line that subtly connects art music with light music and instrumental sound with electronics. After his diplomas in Buenos Aires he went to Cologne with a scholarship of the German government (DAAD). Aesthetically, he hovers between tango argentino, neoclassical music and experimental sounds. His music has been included in several short films and won eleven composition prizes (in UK, Spain, Germany, Austria, Argentina). Parallel to his intense concert activity, he works at the Hochschule für Künste and at the University of Bremen, conducts the chamber orchestra of the Bremer Orchestergemeinschaft and edits piano music for publishing houses such as Ricordi (Universal) and Peters Verlag.
